Grok

Add Everythings to Grok as a custom connector and sign in. Grok can then search, read and, with your permission, write your workspaces and things.

Before you start

You need these on the Grok side:

  • A Grok account that offers Custom under New Connector. Custom connectors launched for SuperGrok and X Premium+; xAI's documentation now lists connectors for all Grok users.
  • On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin who provisions the connector in xAI's cloud console first.

You also need an Everythings account. The free plan works.

Connect in Grok

Copy the Everythings MCP server address:

https://www.everythings.app/api/mcp
  1. Go to grok.com/connectors.
  2. Click New Connector, choose Custom and paste the address.
  3. Follow the sign-in prompts.

Grok then lists the tools Everythings offers and uses them when a question is about your things. Name Everythings in the chat to make that clear.

These menu names are xAI's, and xAI may move them. If a step looks different, look for connectors in Grok's settings.

Approve access

The sign-in opens an Everythings page titled Authorize access. Sign in to Everythings first if you aren't already.

  • The page names the app asking and the Everythings account it will reach.
  • Under It will be able to, it lists the access Grok asked for: reading your things, workspaces and comments, and, with write access, creating, editing and deleting your things and comments.
  • Press Approve to connect, or Deny to stop.

Read access lets Grok search and read. Read & write adds creating, editing, moving, copying and deleting things (deletes go to Trash), plus comments, marks and asking you questions. The Tools reference lists every tool and the access it needs.

What to try first

  • β€œShow me my workspaces in Everythings.”
  • β€œWhat changed in Everythings since yesterday?”
  • β€œAdd a thing called Packing list to my Personal workspace in Everythings.”

What Grok receives

Grok gets the same data every agent gets, as text: your workspaces, things, sub-things, marks, comments and any questions agents asked you. It answers from that text. The interactive view in the chat draws only in hosts that support MCP Apps, which today are claude.ai, Claude Desktop and ChatGPT on the web.

Everything Grok writes carries its name in the app: ✦ and its name on a thing, β€œvia” it on a comment, and β€œagent” after your name on a mark.

Disconnect

  1. In Everythings, open Settings β€Ί MCP Access Tokens and press Revoke on Grok's OAuth: row.
  2. Remove Everythings at grok.com/connectors, which tidies that list.

The first step alone disconnects Grok: revoking its row ends every token it holds for you, refresh tokens included, within a minute.

Questions

I don't see Custom under New Connector. Why?

Custom connectors reached SuperGrok and X Premium+ first, in May 2026. xAI's documentation now says connectors are available to all Grok users, but an account may get the option later than others. On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin has to provision the connector before members see it.

Do I need an access token for Grok?

No. Grok signs in to Everythings with OAuth, so there is nothing to copy. Tokens are for CLIs and scheduled runs; see Access tokens & CLIs.

Will Grok draw my workspace as tiles?

Grok receives every answer as text and replies from it. The interactive view in the chat draws in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and ChatGPT on the web.

Can Grok delete my things?

With read & write access it can move a thing to Trash, where you can restore it. No tool empties Trash, deletes a thing for good or deletes a workspace: those stay actions you take in the app.

Is Everythings in Grok's connector catalog?

Not yet. You add it yourself as a custom connector, with the same MCP server address every other agent uses.
